March 1999

Cyclone Fluid Dynamics BV in conjunction with the Vortex Dynamics Laboratory will host the spring meeting of the "Kontaktgroep Numerieke Stromingsleer" (the dutch contactgroup on computational fluid dynamics) on the 26th of april at the Technical University of Eindhoven.

March 1999

On October 4, 1992, 43 people were killed when a Boeing 747 cargo jet lost its two right engines and dived into a apartment block shortly after takeoff from Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport. 6 years later the Dutch Parliament started a hearing on "the Bijlmer disaster". During this hearing the results of a numerical study of the dispersion of gases was presented (broadcasted live on Dutch national television). The next day, March 6, 1999, these results were also discussed in the science supplement of a renowned Dutch national newspaper.
